Lynn Beasley began taking dance lessons when she was three years old. She studied with Dorothy Fisher here in Seattle, and in high school performed all over the state as a member of Miss Fisher's concert ballet group. Lynn graduated with a B.S. from San Francisco State University. During those studies, she gained a knowledge of child development which has proved very valuable in her work. In 1971 Lynn began teaching dance classes and choreographing for children in San Francisco and has taught dance continuously ever since. After returning to Seattle in 1987, she founded Children’s Ballet Arts, now known as Children’s Dance Workshop. Lynn was on the faculty of the Creative Dance Center for several years and served for five years as director of their Phinney Ridge School. She also teaches Creative Dance at Hilltop Childcare and at Monarch Preschool and Queen Anne Co-op Preschool. Her continuing education in dance has included courses at the San Francisco School of Ballet and the Pacific Northwest Ballet as well as studies with Anne Green Gilbert, the director of the Creative Dance Center. Lynn and her family have lived on Queen Anne Hill since 1987.
